Then & Now: Vintage Inspiration from Fever Designs

FEVER infographicGone are the days when the word ‘vintage’ conjured up thoughts of mothballs and unravelling wooly jumpers from a box in the back of Great Aunty Ethel’s attic.

Now if you don’t have at least one piece of carefully sourced vintage fashion hanging in your wardrobe, you just aren’t a fashionista, darling.

You don’t necessarily have to own an authentic floor-length vintage Valentino gown in order to tick the box, a simple pair of recycled Levi’s shorts (fraying obligatory) adds vintage cool to a casual outfit. Add in those recent trends for 90s inspired sportswear, and if you can find that neon patterned Adidas sweatshirt from your school days that you know is lurking under somewhere your bed, you’re good to go.

While we might mix and match clothing from the 40s, 50s or 60s onwards, we don’t necessarily know that much about those eras we evoke with fashion.

However, this handy infographic fills you in on a few facts you might not know about the ladies or gentlemen who wore that slightly scuffed pair of heels or faded blazer the first time round. Impress the fashion crowd with your new-found knowledge and wear your vintage with pride.
