One of the main challenges I had was time, (I had about 2 hours to shoot my interpretation of Rocawear AW 2012) and shooting in the streets of London by myself just after the Olympics. Following research on previous campaigns, Rocawear is predominately sold to and owned by the African-American consumer and I wanted to change that paradigm. Over here in the UK, we love tea, biscuits and the Queen, so the synergy between the brand, the average British “Joe” had to be seamless.

Rocawear, the ultimate music fashion brand formed by Jay-Z, unveils the new AW ’12 collection giving a glimpse of its evolving style credential. Showcasing a European take on New York street style with denim influences, Rocawear communicates authenticity with a street cool factor.

The denim is particularly strong across all styles along with other key pieces based on “The Double R Club” and “Concrete Jungle” themes including lyric print tees, a camo-lined blazer with elbow patches and viagra a Hells Kitchen graphic sweat available in a range of contrasting pop colours.

Rocawear’s AW ’12 range delivers slimmer denim fitted styles, punctuated with vintage and music led pieces. The brand takes inspiration from the famous Bushwick baseball club in Brooklyn with its “Ballpark” theme with signature varsity jackets and bold graphic sweats encapsulating the new street wear aesthetic. Perfectly incorporating Brooklyn street style, Rocawear unites celebrity appeal with a strong original background.
