Converse UK & JD Sports Present CONVERSE BLOCK PARTY

An underground music festival showcasing upcoming and established UK lyricists. Brought to you by Converse and JD in partnership with SB.TV, RWD and Grime Daily to mark the launch of the new Star Player range!

Converse Block Party, a unique urban culture event that will take place at London’s legendary Old Vic Tunnels on Sunday April 29, 2012. Fusing the urban spirit of basketball with a contemporary street edge, the Spring 2012 Star Player collection will be available nationwide at JD Sports stores from March 19, 2012 and will retail for £42 – £53.

Dedicated to celebrating local street culture, Converse Block Party is a global event series that launched in 2011 and has since travelled across Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America, now hitting the UK for the first time.  In partnership with JD Sports, the London Converse Block Party will feature MC battles with leading underground music artists Wiley, Skepta and P Money; live graffiti demonstrations by Neas and Vibes, two of the most well respected spray can artists in the UK; as well as skate performances by Jerome Campbell, Rory Milanes and Harry Lintell from the Converse UK Skateboarding team.

No not only is there a great party to attend, the guys are also giving you the chance to record and release YOUR OWN TRACK courtesy of legendary London label No Hats No Hoods as well as perform live at Converse Block Party alongside established MCs Wiley, Skepta, P Money, and many more… check out the details below…

Thursday, March 22: Manchester

The MC Clash takes place at JD, 16-18 Barbarolli Mall Arndale Centre, on Thursday, March 22, 9.00 pm – 11.00 pm. Fresh Scrufizzer will perform, hosting alongside the Murkage Cartel

Thursday, March 29: London

The MC Clash takes place at JD, 268-269 Oxford Street on Thursday, March 29, 9.00 pm – 11.00 pm. Mic.Rightous is hosting the London clash alongside underground promoters, Urban Nerds
