With the Olympics right around the corner, there’s never been so much emphasis on sports wear. Whether you take this as a literal way by wearing your Nike Airs’ to work, or play it slightly under the radar with Alexander Wang’s nod to luxe joggers, is completely up to you – but in my opinion there is no sports-infused brand around hotter than Stella Mccartney for adidas.

Flicking through their Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook, I was truly blown away by the amount of variety.

Don’t get me wrong; I’m no stranger to a bit of adidas. I wore my tracksuit bottoms with the rest of the cool kids back in junior school, and have more recently invested in a pair of running bottoms and matching t-shirt in an attempt to be fit; but this range most definitely trumps the lot.

Not only has the latest Mccartney collaborative collection taken colour blocking to a new level, it also gives the wearer so many choices as to how they can customise their work out gear.

Personally, there’s no worse feeling for me than the Monday evening slog to the gym. I swear I have the exact same battle with myself every time I leave the door holding the dreaded gym bag: ‘I won’t eat all day, I’ll ban chocolate in the flat forever, I’ll never again eat a Big Mac, I’ll walk to the tube each day for a month instead of getting the bus, I’ll save the money I spend on the gym each month to buy a power plate’.

The possibilities are endless.

Sometimes I actually do make it to the gym, but all I do is stare at everyone’s fancy gym gear as I peddle endlessly on the bike. I’d love to feel good about myself not only AFTER the gym, but also whilst I’m there… and I am holding my current belief in the fact that this collection can do all of the above for me.

It’s a new year, and a new start: I must have new SS/12 Stella Mccartney for adidas work out clothes!

If you want to blend into the London tarmac, you can stick to the charcoal end of the spectrum; if you’re feeling flamboyant and ready for summer (already!) then mix it up in the bright oranges, reds, yellows and blues.

I’m still waiting to get my hands on the collection, however I do have one of their brand new Media Pouches, which although I haven’t used for an actual sporting activity yet (it will come in super handy when it’s safe enough to cycle without being blown into a tree), it has come in very useful as an extra camera-attachment-holder-thingy (actual technical term) when pretending to skateboard.

Besides the fluorescent yellow leggings and fire engine red hoodies, I’m also dying for a spot of 80s infusion into my beach look, and these bikinis are the final push that I need to ditch the triangle-top forever.

Love the frilled aystemtric bikini top, LOVE the cut-out swimming costume even more, and the high-rise bikini bottoms are ideal for that bloated day-after-the-night-before feeling.

The new collection also features the gorgeous tennis pro, Caroline Wozniacki, modelling some of the range.

I can feel summer approaching already – wohoo!
