Now this is not any emerging brand, Alan Paine dates back to 1907 – old folks eh! In fact you can arguably say that these cats invented the Cable Knit Jumper.. but in saying that regardless of how old, they’ve never kept their mind in the old school, instead have definitely reinvented themselves to fit the modern man, with hints of heritage and homage to the English style.
Alan Paine’s ‘The English Explorer Range’ inspired by explorer and mountaineer George Mallorys attempt to conquer Mount Everest. The English Explorer Collection features luxurious knitwear in the finest cashmere, merino and lambswool.
George Mallory was a loyal Alan Paine customer and the brand has decided to celebrate the famous explorer and mountaineer with a range of clothing influenced by what Mallory wore on the last and ill fated Everest attempt. From direct photographic evidence Alan Paine have been able to reconstruct a number of garments used by Mallory and other members of the expedition
The five piece capsule collection features Hailshame, a soft 100% Merino wool cardigan with wooden toggles and a water resistant Teflon coating: a timeless garment that will provide style and comfort in the winter days. Plenty more pieces will also catch your eyes, and with prices starting from £135 it is a match made in heaven!
