Dec
So here’s to the last post of 2011 from theCool. Once agan a ma-hoo-sive thankyou to all for your continuous support, suggestions, advice and positive criticisms, we can’t have done it without you all! It takes time to grow into something worth keeping, and you guys, our cool readers made that possible within our first 3 months!
So we’ll pick up from where we left off…
Heres to JULY 2011
Our brilliant writer, and sure fire definition of Cool, Obui definitely had the right idea thinking we could do more on theCool and so she kicked of theCool Music, and it was greatly received by all of our readers/supporters. Biggest story for theCool Music in July was having to say goodbye to music legend Amy Winehouse, her soulful music, honest lyrics and musical talent continues to live on!
Our biggest fashion story for theCool was our exclusive invite to the Net-A-Porter, Dolce & Gabbana party which saw us shake hands with the designers themselves, rub shoulders with the likes of Noami Campbell and Queen Latifah, and hang out with good pal Matteo Scaglione (Founder & Editor of Best You Never Had)
AUGUST 2011
We were lucky enough to collaborate with Shoe Fanatic for Men, who gave us the low down on what trends to look for in AW11. theCool Music told us how people really felt about the London Riots which took place in August, with thoughts from Master Shortie delving into the issues we face and more…
Our friends over at Make It Good Blog and Fat Kid On Fire shared with us their 50th feature to date, which is definitely a fantastic achievement. and biggest story was the Jerome Haye x Playdot Apparel lookbook, which saw the brand create a more lifestyle image to be inspired from.
Supremebeing launched the White Canvas Project, cementing their love for all things art as well as fashion, brought to us with top street artists David Walker, Mr Jago, She One, Will Barras and Bue the Warrior.
Top story was brought to us by Professor Green and his fab interview with our very own Liz, who caught up with the artist on music, life and his involvement in Puma Social as a lifestyle ambassador.
LFW came back around and of course our Sarah was on to it. And lastly we hit up Tumblr with new to the crew Jude, who showed us exactly what’s happening on the streets, what you’re wearing, what you are not and her daily antics of fashion bliss.
OCTOBER 2011
October was special, as we attended Daisy Lowe’s dinner party! Ok not literally but VICE UK brought us the world according to Daisy Lowe and it definitely was a treat! What we did attend was the Lazy Oaf 10th Anniversary party, party hats, tattoos, nails and drinks, the icing ontop of the cake was having exclusive passes thanks to Think-Work-Play!
Our friends from across the boarder, Profound Aesthetics released jaw dropping AW11 collection entitled ‘We the People’, and we were hit up by creative team REPVDO on their various video features of our favourite brands.
NOVEMBER 2011
November kicked off with news that INSA’s ‘Girls on Bikes‘ was to launch in London, which was an eye opener in so many ways! theCool Music once again had to say goodbye to another musical legend Heavy D, who left us all jaw dropping at his sudden departure from earth. Nevertheless biggest story came from our good friends over at Flyprints and their iLuveLive Cypher bringing some of UK’s hottest MC’s to the mic.
Biggest Fashion story was indeed the launch of Versace for H&M, which saw the masses queue up outside the Regent St store for hours, and everyone else at home just waiting for it’s arrival online. Definitely nice for Donatella Versace herself to be there first thing to welcome our fashion hungry heads!
Last but not least we conjured up another theCool Meets with Angela & Vanessa Simmons on Pastry, talking fashion, ambitions and their latest brand Ambassadors Jessica Jarrell and Mz Bratt.
DECEMBER 2011
Boxpark came to life in December, after much anticipation from Roger Wade, it was finally a reality, and how much we love it! Tee Hunter hit us up with a fantastic style guide for 2011 and the rest of the actual season, and we discovered the fabulous SHOPARAZZI, with the good festive news that we will never miss a sale EVER again!
Biggest Story was our collab with the HTC Sensation XL, taking it around time, and giving you the low down of what we found, who we saw, and just how great the phone was.
Of course December saw us countdown the best gifts for Christmas and start our look into SS12 with many brands hitting us up with what to expect, by far Speedo stole our hearts with the various collections to expect from 2012!
And this brings us to now!! That’s been 2011, and we can’t wait for 2012, have a great one, be safe and be COOL!!
