Brand Spotlight #22 on BEPOSITIVE CLOTHING

Spotlight #22 gets us into a happy moment with brand BEPOSITIVE… yup it pretty much is in the name, and you can guess you’ll be feeling positive by the end of this session! Cracking down on the politics with owner Vangelis Orfanidis, who tells us the when’s, why’s and what the brand is all about, giving us an insight on why we should invest in them, and what new things they bring to the market!
Check it out below… and err… BEPOSITIVE!!
TCF: BEPOSITIVE… definitely a feel good name… why did you choose that?
Because it’s a feel good name!!! I wanted to make a brand that would express a positive way of thinking. Of course everyday life is full of problems, but if you look closer, you will see that there is always at least 1 second in our every day life that has something memorable, so there is always a reason to be positive! Don’t look for something really big. Try to find simple things. For example the time you press the snooze button and you are under your quilt is a really enjoyable moment!
TCF: How and when did you start?
I was working as a marketeer in furniture industry for years but I wanted to do something more creative! I was always having in my mind designs that I would like to print on my clothes, so I started thinking how to establish my own brand, in order to give life to my ideas. Finally BePositive launched this year, at the end of June!
TCF: What is the brands ethos?
Only high quality products which are meant to spread “bepositivism”!
TCF: What inspires you?
Just every day life! I try to focus on small things I enjoy during the day and then transform them to a new design!
TCF: In terms of growth, do you think the name BEPOSITIVE may hinder edgier designs?
Yes, that’s true! I have already “censored” some of my designs because there were too edgy for this brand. But this is not a rule! I think that the “84likes” ladies top which is blank and 84 people press “like” to the breasts of the girl that wears it, is slightly provocative, but still suitable for BePositive.
TCF: Who is the ideal BEPOSITIVE customer?
A positive thinker or a wannabe positive thinker, who appreciates simple design and avoids using Comic Sans Font!
TCF: What’s your take on UK Streetwear and how does it translate to the brand’s collection?
Well… People say that music is THE global language! I think that T-shirt is a global language too, which is used to express a feeling or to spread a message, regardless of local culture! Exactly like music! So in this global environment, if there is a need for more positive thinking, then “b+” will have a reason to exist.
TCF: Is there directions into more cut & sew pieces?
I think it’s too early for a brand of 5 months life to go on with something like this. I am supporter of “step by step” process in everything I do! So the next step includes some new designs that I’m preparing these days which I think are really cool and BePositive customers will love them!
TCF: Where can we find BEPOSITIVE?
For the time being you can get your “b+” only at www.bepositivefashion.com. I’m in discussions with some retailers in order to expand product placement, but this will happen in the near future. As I said… “Step by Step” Process!
