A few days back, Obui and I headed down to Margin London to meet some amazing emerging brands from the UK and rest of the world, there was a mixture of streetwear, vintage, tailored and high street brands in attendance so here’s a little of what we saw.

Chili by M4E

First off was Hong Kong based brand, Chili by M4E, started by  Micky and Sammy it draws on graffiti and street art as influence for it’s bold designs, their designs include t-shirts, hoodies, pants and amazingly detailed silk scarfs. All of their designs are printed in limited runs so they’re uber-exclusive. What I loved the most about the brand, aside from the amazing graphics was the fact that they had designed their own t-shirt styles as they wanted to create more feminine, relaxed cuts compared to regular t-shirt styles out there at the moment.

DeadBuryDead

LA based DeadBuryDead, were next, we instantly fell in love withe vintage photography and Emo style slogans. The collection was inspired by the history of the United States and featured US folklore heros such as Crazy Horse and brave Pennsylvanian steel workers, which instantly brought out the US History Geek inside me.  They also stock Ladies t-shirts and crop tops as well as hoodies and vests, all of which are currently available online on their site, and soon in selected UK stockists.

Being Equal

Headed up by brothers Rory and Josh, both of which were extremely lovely Being Equal is an exciting brand which mixes casual tailoring with  unique prints and cuts. They were showing a sneak peak of their S/S 2012 Collection which included bright tailored separates, cosy knitwear and stylish Parka’s just perfect for the British ‘Summer’. Each style is limited to a maximum of 30 pieces,  but they still mange to keep their prices at an affordable price point.

Especially loved the bold prints on the swimming trunks, would love to see how many guys would be brave enough to pull those off. For more info on the brand and their online store check their site out here.

Keep an eye out for Part 2 which includes even more of the amazing brands we came across at Margin!
